Get Involved with the IPSE Association

The IPSE Association is a community built on connection, collaboration, and shared commitment to inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) for students with intellectual disability. There are many ways to make a difference—whether you’re a student, professional, researcher, family member, or advocate. Note, you must be a member of the IPSE Association to serve on a committee or serve in a volunteer leadership role.

Here are some ways you can get involved!

Join a Committee

Committees are where the IPSE Association’s work truly comes to life. By joining a committee, you’ll collaborate with peers from across the country to advance our mission and strengthen the field.

Current committees include:

• Membership Engagement – Build community and enhance member experiences.
• Member Benefits – Plan webinars, training, and other events for professionals, students, alumni and families.
• Advocacy & Policy – Support inclusive education through strategic policy efforts.
• Fundraising  – Help identify opportunities, engage sponsors and donors, and support the financial sustainability of the IPSE Association.
• Communications & Marketing – Promote the mission and impact of the IPSE Association through storytelling, social media, and strategic communication efforts.

Become a Mentor

Help guide and inspire the next generation of inclusive education leaders!
Our Mentoring Program connects experienced professionals and emerging leaders across the IPSE field. You can serve as a mentor to:

• College students interested in careers supporting inclusion in higher education
• Graduate students conducting research or pursuing leadership in IPSE
• Professionals seeking to grow in their roles or expand their networks

Mentoring is flexible and designed to fit your schedule—whether you prefer one-time career conversations, ongoing guidance, or virtual connections.

Interested in coordinating or helping lead the mentoring program?
We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help coordinate, match, and support mentor-mentee pairs. This is a great opportunity to shape the next phase of professional development in the IPSE community.

Whether you have a few hours a month or more to give, your voice and expertise are valued here.
